At the St-Denis Veterinary Clinic, we always strive to be at the forefront of new medical technologies and techniques in order to provide the highest quality medical and surgical care to our patients. Moreover, we offer our customers the best quality operative care.

We use only the newest veterinary anesthetic gas: isoflurane. This general anesthetic is currently deemed as the safest. In addition, it provides a very rapid recovery with little or no side effects.

All our patients under general anesthesia are automatically connected to a device that continually monitors the heart rate, blood oxygenation and temperature. The readings allow us to do the interventions in the safest possible way under general anesthesia.

Everything leads us to believe that animals feel as much pain as humans. Most surgical procedures cause postoperative pain, more or less according to the procedure. At the clinic, a patient undergoing painful or simply deemed uncomfortable surgery receive an effective analgesic injection for 24 hours. In addition, if the veterinarian considers it necessary, an oral analgesic prescription will be given to further analgesia at home. For some procedures, such as declawing, we do a local anesthesia which lasts about 6 hours. Therefore, when our patients wake up from anesthesia, they feel no post-operative discomfort.

As you can see, the comfort, safety and well-being of our patients are our priorities.
